In light of the horrific truths unearthed all across Canada recently at the sites of former residential schools, the OHA stands united in support of our First Nations friends and colleagues.
As a token of respect and gratitude for Indigenous peoples and the enormous influence they have on herbal medicine, we would like to encourage all of our members to consider enrolling in this free online course offered by the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Native Studies entitled “Indigenous Canada”. Expanding our knowledge and understanding of Indigenous issues, culture and history may help us all on the path towards reconciliation.
Course Description:
“From an Indigenous perspective, this course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations.”
This course qualifies for OHA CPD credits, and may be withheld and used towards the Awareness Training credit should it be voted as mandatory for 2022-2023 renewals at the upcoming vote.
