The OHA is gathered on the traditional territory of the Canadian First Nations peoples.
The OHA recognizes that for thousands of years, indigenous people have walked on the land we call Ontario; their relationship with the land is at the centre of their lives & spirituality. They walked gently on this land and offered assistance and shared knowledge to the first European travellers in what was at times a harsh climate.
We acknowledge and thank them for their stewardship of this land throughout the ages and seek a new relationship with them based on honour and respect.
We need to follow their example.
